Screwballs II: Loose Screws

***DISCLAIMER*** The following review is entirely my opinion. If you comment (which I encourage you to do) be respectful. If you don't agree with my opinion, that's fine. To each their own. I am just sharing my opinions and perspective. Finally, the reviews are given on a scale of 1-5. 1, of course, being terrible. 2, being not great. 3, being okay. 4, being good and 5, being epic!

Screwballs II: Loose Screws - 3 out of 5

If the first film wasn't bad enough, someone decided a sequel was needed but it's a sequel only in the sense that it has a Roman Numeral two in the title. No returning characters are seen as the film decides to pave new ground with a new story...and characters that are suspiciously similar to the first one except this time around, there are only four dudes out to get some action and not five.

Okay, the first film centered around the five horny guys looking to nail the school's virgin but the writers decided to change it up by making the story revolve around four horny guys seeing who can score more points by engaging the most women (yeah, they put their sexual conquests on a point system) however, the guys decide to stop this pursuit and go after a single girl; the extremely desirable French teacher. So even though they tried to make it different, the film ultimately becomes the same as the first.

Within moments of starting Screwballs II: Loose Screws you're going to have to come up for air as you nearly drown in the amount of silly sexual innuendos this film throws at you. The high school our four "heroes" get expelled from is called Beaver High and they are sent to a summer school called Cockswell Academy. And then you have the characters' have Steve Hardman, Marvin Eatmore, Hugh G. Rection, Tracey Greathead and the French teacher's name is Mona Lott. Yeah, that's the level of quality you're dealing with in this film. Add that with a ridiculous dance sequence on a beach to a song called "Do the Screw." I tried to find a clip of this scene to add to the blog but, shockingly, it's nowhere to be found on the old interweb. Trust me when I tell you that this odd scene makes the movie.

This 1985 sex comedy is without a doubt, a WTF film as it will make you constantly say, "What the fuck?" Scenes end abruptly for no reason, aspects of sequences will make no sense like a shot of two children on the beach during the "Do the Screw" dance number and the fact the four guys are being punished for misbehaving outside of school. However, this movie will have you saying "What the fuck?" every two seconds with a smile on your face and the sound of laughter not far behind it because it is so damn out-there and stupid that it is unintentionally hilarious. I realize the filmmakers were trying to make a comedy but everything about this film is funny except the jokes they wrote.
